Ingredients

Celeriac 1/2
Soy sauce 3 tbsp
Mirin 2 tbsp
Potato starch as required
Oil for frying as required
Chilli powder or curry powder as required

Method

1
Thickly peel the celeriac. It's quite hard, so you'll need to firmly slice off the peel.
2
Cut into 1cm x 5cm chips.
3
Mix the soy sauce and mirin in a bowl and soak the celeriac chips for 20 minutes.
4
Drain well and pat dry then dredge with the potato starch and deep fry for 2-3 minutes in 180C hot oil. Sprinkle with chilli powder or curry powder and eat while hot.
5
This is celeriac, a true root vegetable.

Tips & Note

●If the celeriac is too hard, microwave for 2 minutes or put in the oven for 5 minutes to soften. Allow to cool before cutting into chips.
