日本で流行ったエッグベネディクトを初めて食す

日本ではパンケーキの次に人気急上昇したエッグベネディクト。欧米の朝食やブランチとして定番のメニューということで、見た目も名前の響きも可愛くていつかちゃんと食べたいと思っていた矢先、ようやく食べることができました。
おそらくいろんなバージョンがあるかと思うのですが、私が食べたのはとてもシンプルなもの。これまたイギリスの伝統的料理バブル&スクイークの上にポークベリーと半熟卵をのせてオランデ―ソースがかかっていました。(私が食べたレストランではポークベリーかサーモンを選べました。)
食べた感想は、、、。そんなに衝撃を受ける味でもやみつきになる味でもなく、なんで朝食メニューにこの料理なんだろうと疑問に思うさらっとした料理でした。個人的には朝食でというよりビールのつまみのほうがあうかな。
それでも、半熟卵とオランデ―ソースをマスターしていつか家の朝食でさくっとだしてみたらかっこいいかなと思いました。
