Oven Baked Celeriac with a Cheesy Topping

So easy but great at parties.

Ingredients

Celeriac 1/2
Cheddar cheese (grated) 1/2 cup
Garlic 1 clove
Herbs de Provence or thyme 1 tsp
Butter as required
Single cream 2 tbsp
Salt & pepper as required
Breadcrumbs as required

Method

Thickly peel the celeriac and finely slice. Finely chop the garlic.

Put the butter in a frying pan and lightly fry the garlic. Add the celeriac.

Fry on both sides and season with salt & pepper. Turn the heat off.

Place the celeriac in an oiled oven dish and sprinkle with the herbs. Pour in the single cream and sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the top.

Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top. Dot pieces of butter evenly over the top.

Bake at 200C in a preheated oven for 10 minutes before serving.

Tips & Note

●You can add other vegetables such as mushrooms or onions, or pasta or sausages for a different twist.
