Chinese-style fried chicken topped with chopped scallions and sweet vinegar and soy sauce

All you have to do is pour the sweet and sour leek sauce onto deep fried chicken, both easy and delicious.

Ingredients

Chicken pieces (breast or thigh) 2
Leek 3-4cm
Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Sake (or white wine) 2 tbsp
Ginger (grated) 1 thumb
Egg yolk 1
Corn starch 4 tbsp
Vegetable oil 5-6 tbsp
【Leek Sauce】
Soy sauce 2 tbsp
Vinegar 1 tbsp
Mirin 1/2 tbsp
Sugar 1/2 tbsp
Ginger (grated) 1 thumb
Garlic (finely chopped) 1 clove
Sesame oil 1/2 tbsp

Method

This time I cooked for one. so I prepared two medium size chicken thighs.

Score the chicken - thise makes the meat more easily absorb the sauce.

Add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp sake, grated ginger, an egg yolk and rub into the chicken well. Leave for about 10 minutes.

Put the ingredients of the leek sauce into a bowl, mix well, heat in the microwave for about 40 seconds. Remove and add the chopped leek.

Add the corn starch to the marinated chicken then rub it to coat the chicken well.

Fry the chicken in oil heated to about 170°C for about 3 minutes on each side. When they turn golden brown, turn off the heat and leave on residual heat for about 5 minutes.

Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces and serve on a plate, pouring over plenty of leek sauce.
