Irresistible Lemon Chicken

One of my top five favourite Chinese dishes!

Ingredients

Chicken breast fillet (medium) 1
▼Sugar 3 tbsp
▼Honey 1 tsp
▼Soy sauce 1 tbsp
▼Chicken stock granules 1 tbsp
▼Lemon juice 1
Water 3 tbsp
Chicken stock granules 1 tbsp
Flour 2 tbsp
Egg 1
▽Mirin 1 tbsp
▽Sake (or white wine) 1 tbsp
▽Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Potato starch in a bit of water 2 tbsp

Method

Cut the chicken into 10 pieces and soak in the ▽ingredients for 30 minutes.

Put the egg, flour, stock granules and water in a bowl and whisk well.

Pat dry the chicken pieces and add to the bowl in Step 2. Put 5 tbsp oil in a frying pan and put on high heat. Shallow fry the chicken pieces, keeping the batter aside.

Pour in the remaining batter over the chicken.

Turn the chicken pieces over and fry for 5 minutes on medium heat.

Add the ▼ingredients and bring to the boil. Add the potato starch in water to thicken the sauce.

Transfer the chicken pieces to a serving dish and pour over the sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and enjoy!
