How to Cook Frozen Whole Soy Beans (Edamame)

Delicious, crunchy and healthy!

Recipe By: Tobuchan (https://cookbuzz.com/kitchen/25)
Serves 2-3 Prep: 5 min Cook: 5 min

Ingredients

Frozen whole edamame 200g
Hot water 1.5 litres
Salt (for boiling) 30g
Salt (for seasoning) 2-3 pinches

Method

1
This is the pack I bought in a Japanese supermarket in London, it's made in China. It says to boil for 6-7 minutes before washing in cold water - I ignored this!
2
Put 2% salt of the amount of water - in this case, it's 30g for 1.5 litres. Add the frozen whole edamame straight into the pan and boil for 3 minutes.
3
Drain in a colander and allow to cool slightly.
4
Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with good salt, I used Maldon salt. Mix well and serve with a nice cold beer.

Tips & Note

●The package advises to boil for 6-7 minutes. 3 minutes is good enough, maybe 2-2.5 minutes may be even better as the edamame are already cooked before being frozen. I have never tried to boil for 6-7 minutes, I'm too scared...
