Swede with a Crabmeat Sauce

Ingredients

Swede 1/2
White crabmeat (from a dressed crab) 50
Water 150ml
Dashi stock 1 tsp
Soy sauce 1.5 tbsp
Mirin 1/2 tbsp
Sake 1/2 tbsp
Salt as required
Cornflour 1.5 tbsp
Water 2 tbsp

Method

Peel the swede and cut into chunks. If you have time, smooth off the edges for a nicer finish.

Put in a bowl and add water to half cover the swede. Cover the bowl with cling film and microwave for 10 minutes.

Put all the other ingredients except the crabmeat, cornflour and water in a pan and bring to the boil.

Add the cornflour mixed in 2 tbsp water a bit at a time. When the sauce thickens, add the shreds of crabmeat.

Pour Step 4 over the cooked swede and serve.

Tips & Note

If you use potato starch instead of cornflour, use 1 tbsp.
