Rice with Mooli Leaves & Deep Fried Tofu

You might normally throw it away, but mooli leaves are so tasty, try them in this recipe.

Ingredients

Cooked rice for 1
Mooli leaves 40-50g
Sesame oil 1 tbsp
Deed fried tofu (aburaage) 1/2
Sake 1/2 tbsp
Mirin 1/2 tbsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Miso 1 tsp
Sesame seeds as required
Salt a pinch

Method

Roughly chop the mooli leaves.

Cut the deep fried tofu into strips.

Put the sesame oil in a frying pan and add the mooli leaves and a pinch of salt and fry. When nicely coated with oil, add the sake.

When the mooli leaves are softened, add the tofu strips and fry further. Add the mirin, soy sauce and miso and fry until reduced.

Add Step 4 into some just cooked rice and sprinkle with sesame oil. Mix before serving.

Tips & Note

You can add as much chopped mooli leaves as you like! For extra flavour, you could add bonito flakes.
