Grilled Mackerel with Tartare Sauce Topping

Ingredients

Mackerel fillets 4
Hard boiled egg 1
Mayonnaise 2 tbsp
Dijon mustard 1 tbsp
Onion (finely chopped) 2 tbsp
Capers (finely chopped) 1 tbsp
Parsley (finely chopped) 2 tbsp
Parmigiano reggiano as required
Olive oil as required
Sea salt as required
Pepper as required

Method

Cut the mackerel fillets in half.

Season with salt & pepper.

Separate the boiled egg yolk and white and finely chop each.

Put the mayonnaise, mustard, onion, capers and parsley in a bowl and add Step 3 and mix well.

Put the mackerel pieces on an oven tray and drizzle with olive oil. Spread with the tartare sauce from Step 4 and put in a preheated oven 180C for 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the grated cheese if you like.

Put under a grill for about 3 minutes until nice, crisp and golden.
