Kale Kakiage Tempura

A difficult ingredient made into something wonderful.

Ingredients

Kale 200g
Salt for boiling 2 tbsp
【Tempura batter】
Plain flour as required
Egg 1
Kale water (from boiling) as required (same amount as flour)
Vegetable oil for frying as required

Method

Wash the kale and remove the stalk.

Put the salt into hot water and boil the kale on medium heat for 10 minutes.

Drain in a colander and squeeze out the remaining water when it's hand hot.

Mix all the tempura batter ingredients together and put in the kale. Deep fry until golden.

Tips & Note

You could shallow fry with enough oil to cover the tempura if you prefer.
