Ingredients

Pork belly 200g
Onion (small) 1
Salt a pinch
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Garlic 1 tsp
Ginger 1.5 tsp
Soy sauce 1.5 tbsp
Rice wine 1 tbsp
Mirin 1 tbsp
Sesame seeds as required

Method

This is pork belly. This pack is 500 grams and it cost £2.70. Grate the garlic and ginger and put in a bowl. Add the soy sauce, mirin and rice wine to make a sauce.

Add a pinch of salt to boiling water and cook the pork belly for 5 minutes, then remove and let it cool.

Thinly slice the pork (be careful not to cut your fingers). Slice the onion thinly.

Put the oil in a frying pan and stir fry the onions.

Add the sliced pork and stir fry. Add the sauce from Step 1 and cook to reduce it to half.

Transfer to a serving dish and top with the sesame seeds. Sprinkle some chilli powder if you like it spicy!
