Spicy Pork & Chickpea Burgers

Similar to falafel and really tasty.

Ingredients

Minced Pork 150g
Tinned chickpeas (400g) 1/2
Seasonings:
Coriander leaves 2-3
Egg 1/2
White wine 50ml
Flour 1 tbsp
Salt & pepper as required
Garam masala 3 tbsp
Sauce:
White wine 100ml
Water 100ml
Garam masala 2 tbsp
Flour 1.5 tbsp
Light soy sauce 1.5 tsp
Garnish:
Carrot 1/2
Courgette 1/4
Cauliflower (small) 1/2

Method

Drain the chickpeas and roughly mash in a bowl. Add the minced pork and all the seasoning ingredients and mix well.

Divide the mixture into 4-6 patties and dredge with flour.

Put the oil in a frying pan and fry Step 2 on medium heat.

Add the sliced carrots and courgettes and fry with the patties. Boil the cauliflower lightly before adding the florets.

When the patties and vegetables are cooked, remove onto a serving dish. Add the wine and water to the pan.

Add the garam masala and flour and cook. Add the soy sauce, the sauce is now ready.

Pour the sauce over the patties and vegetables.

Tips & Note

If the mixture seems too soft at Step 1, add some more flour.
