Smoked Pork Belly & Vegetable Sukiyaki

Polish pork belly works really well in this dish.

Ingredients

Smoked pork belly 200g
Pointed cabbage leaves 4
Onion 1/2
Green pepper 1/2
Red pepper 1/2
Spring onions 3
Eggs 3
Sauce:
Granulated sugar 4 tbsp
Soy sauce 80ml
Sake or white wine 80ml
Mirin 80ml
Dashi stock granules 1 tsp
Hot water 120ml

Method

You can use any vegetables that are left over, but try to make a good colour combination.

Put all the sauce ingredients in a large frying pan and stir to dissolve the sugar. Don't turn the heat on. Add all the chopped vegetables and pork.

Mix all the ingredients together and keep for 10 minutes.

Turn the heat on high and cook for 10 minutes. Roughly chop the spring onions diagonally and add to the pan.

Pour in the beaten eggs in two lots and cook for 1 minute. It's ready to serve.

You can enjoy this with cooked rice - yum!

Tips & Note

●Add some more hot water if the sauce has reduced too much
