Purple Cabbage & Minced Beef in Red Wine

Ingredients

Purple cabbage 200g
Minced beef 100g
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Garlic 1 clove
Red wine 100ml
Beef stock cube 1/2
Horseradish sauce 1 tbsp
Sugar 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Method

Chop the cabbage into fine strips and finely chop the garlic.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the cumin seeds. Add the garlic and minced beef and fry on medium heat.

When the meat is cooked, add the cabbage and turn the heat up to high.

When the cabbage has softened, add the sugar, red wine and crumbled stock cube. Turn the heat down to low, put the lid on and simmer for 10 minutes.

Season with salt & pepper to your taste.

Turn the heat off and add the horseradish sauce before serving. Sprinkle with finely chopped parsley if you like.

Tips & Note

●Fry the cumin seeds slowly at Step 2 to get a really slow development of flavour.
