Ingredients

Glutinous rice 150g
Minced pork 500g
Dried shiitake mushrooms (large) 3
Ginger (grated) 1 heaped tbsp
Sesame oil 1 tbsp
Potato starch 3 tbsp
Light soy sauce 2 tbsp
Pepper a little
Spring onions (chopped) 20g
Egg 1

Method

1
I used this glutinous rice from Thailand.
2
Soak the rice in lots of water for 3 hours.
3
Put the minced pork, rehydrated chopped mushrooms, ginger, sesame oil, potato starch, soy sauce, pepper, spring onions and egg in a large bowl.
4
Mix well and make into small meatballs. Dredge with the well drained rice, pressing firmly so that it sticks.
5
Place the meatballs spaced well apart into a steamer.
6
Steam on high heat for 15 minutes before serving.

Tips & Note

You could add a touch more soy sauce for a stronger taste, the seasonings listed are for a light flavour. Or you could dip into soy sauce.
