Steamed Pork with Pickled Plum

So healthy with a lovely contrast of the pickled plum to wake you up.

Ingredients

Pork loin 200g
Spring onions 1 bunch
Paste:
Pickled plums (umeboshi) 3
Bonito flakes 1 pack
Light soy sauce 1 tbsp
Mirin 1 tbsp
Sake 1 tbsp
Sesame oil 1 tbsp

Method

Tenderise the pork to make it thin. Cut into 3cm square pieces

Cut the spring onions into 3cm lengths.

Remove the stone from the pickled plums and finely chop. Mix in a bowl with the bonito flakes, soy sauce, mirin, sake and sesame oil.

Spread the paste from Step 3 inbetween the pork slices and layer them on a plate. Sprinkle the spring onions over the top.

Steam for 10 minutes on high heat. Transfer to a dish when ready to serve.

Tips & Note

●If you don't have a steamer, you can use lots of water in a deep pan or Le Creuset and rest the pork dish on a metal pot or colander. Put the lid on to steam it properly.
