Creamy Simmered Smoked Mackerel and Bok-Choi

A lovely creamy sauce for mackerel and green vegetables.

Ingredients

Smoked mackerel fillets (non-peppered) 2
Bok Choi bunches 4
Vegetable oil as required
Dashi stock 1 cup
Milk 1 cup
Potato starch in a bit of water as required

Method

Remove the skin from the mackerel and slice to 3cm pieces.

Slice the bok choi into strips and lightly fry in oil. Add the dashi broth and simmer.

When the bok choi is soft, remove onto a plate.

In the same pan, add the mackerel into the broth and pour in the milk. Bring to the boil.

Add the potato starch to thicken. Pour Step 5 onto the bok choi and serve.

Tips & Note

●The thin strips of bok choi will cook quickly and absorb all the sauce.
