Steamed Pork with Miso & Spring Onions

Ingredients

Pork belly 400g
Spring onions 9-10
Garlic 4-5 cloves
Miso 2 tbsp
Sake 2 tbsp
Sugar 2 tsp
Potato starch or cornflour 3 tbsp

Method

Slice the pork into 5-6mm thick pieces and remove any excess fat.

Roughly chop the spring onions and finely chop the garlic.

Put the miso, sake, sugar and potato starch in a bowl and add Steps 1 & 2. Mix together by hand.

Transfer to a deep bowl and cover with cling film. Place into a larger pan and steam for 13-15 minutes. Make sure there's plenty of water in the pan.

When the pork changes colour and everything is cooked, remove from the pan and transfer to a serving dish.
