Turnip, Minced Pork & Tofu Stew

You'll really taste the sweetness of the turnip in this dish.

Ingredients

Turnips 2 (200g)
Minced pork 150g
Tofu 1
Sesame oil 1 tbsp
Ginger 2 thumbs
Water 200ml
Dashi granules (Hondashi) 1 tbsp
Soy sauce 1 tsp
Spring onions 2
Potato starch in a bit of water as required

Method

Peel the turnips and cut into bitesize pieces. Finely chop the spring onions.

Put the sesame oil in a large frying pan and fry the minced pork until browned. Add the turnips.

Add the roughly torn tofu, dashi granules, soy sauce, water and grated ginger and bring to the boil on high heat.

Turn the heat down and put the lid on to simmer for 10 minutes. When the turnips are soft, add the potato starch in a bit of water to thicken.

Turn the heat off and season to taste with salt. Add the spring onions and stir in.

Transfer to a serving dish - enjoy!
