Pork Donburi

Ingredients

Pork belly slices 200g
Onion (small) 1/2
Flour a little
Soy sauce 1.5 tbsp
Vinegar 1 tbsp
Sake 1 tbsp
Mirin 1 tbsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Ginger (grated) 1 thumb
Cooked rice for 2 people
Cabbage & carrots as you like
Spring onions and crushed sesame seeds for garnish

Method

Thinly slice the pork belly and dredge with the flour. Finely slice the onion.

Put the frying pan on medium heat (no oil). Add the pork and fry.

When the pork is half cooked, add the onion and fry until softened.

Add all the sauce ingredients from soy sauce to ginger and simmer.

Put some cooked rice in a bowl with fine strips of cabbage and carrots. Add the pork on top.

Sprinkle with finely chopped spring onions or crushed sesame seeds before serving.
