Quick and Easy Savoury Chicken on Rice (Yakitoridon)

Use chicken thigh which is boneless and skinless and easy to cook.

Ingredients

Chicken thighs 300g
Spring onions as required
Onion (medium) 1
Salt a little
Sauce:
Soy sauce 3 tbsp
Mirin 3 tbsp
White wine 2 tbsp
Sugar as required

Method

Put some vegetable oil in a frying pan and add the sliced onions and some salt. Fry on medium heat until softened.

Cut the chicken into bitesize pieces and add to Step 1. Add the sauce ingredients and fry until browned.

Turn the heat down to low, add a touch of water and put the lid on. Steam fry until the onions caramelise.

Transfer onto some cooked rice in a bowl if you like and sprinkle with finely chopped spring onions.

You can adjust the sauce ingredients to make the flavours you enjoy.
