Onion Soup with Rice

The firm brown rice gives this a great texture.

Serves 2

Ingredients

Onion 1 (150g)
Brown rice 40g
Butter 30g
Water 500ml
Chicken stock cube 1/2
Soy sauce 2 tsp
Emmental cheese as required

Method

Cut the onion into half then finely slice.

Put the butter into a pan and stir fry the brown rice on medium high heat with the onions.

Add water and the crushed stock cube, and soy sauce. Put the lid on. When it boils, turn down to a low heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

When the rice is cooked, turn off the heat. Pour into a serving bowl and garnish with the grated cheese. It's ready to enjoy.

Tips & Note

●You don't have to wash the brown rice.
●Fry well at Step 2 to get a nice dark brown colour of onion soup.
