Savoury Mince-Stuffed Chinese Leaves

Ingredients

Chinese leaves 2-3
Onion 1/2
Garlic 1 clove
Minced pork 150g
Sage leaves (or other herbs) 3-4
Nutmeg as required
Salt & pepper as required
Double cream 3 tbsp

Method

Wrap the Chinese leaves in cling film and microwave for 1-1.5 minutes to soften.

Put some oil in a frying pan and fry the finely chopped onion and garlic.

Put the minced pork in a bowl and add the fried onions and garlic from Step 2. Add finely chopped sage, salt & pepper and nutmeg and knead the mixture together well.

Pat dry the Chinese leaves, season with salt and dust lightly with some flour.

Spread the mince mixture from Step 3 onto 2/3 of the Chinese leaves and roll up. Slice into 2 or 3 pieces.

Put some oil in the frying pan and fry the stuffed leaves until dark and crispy on both sides.

Transfer to an oven tray and pour over the double cream. Put into a preheated oven 200C for 10-15 minutes.

Tips & Note

●Fry the stuffed leaves until very crispy at Step 6 to give a really good flavour
