An Attempt at 'Ramen' Sauce by Tesco

I followed the recipe instructions on a jar of Tesco's Ramen Paste...but I ended up with Thai-ish noodles!

Recipe By: Tobuchan (https://cookbuzz.com/kitchen/25)
Serves 1 Prep: 3 min Cook: 8 min

Ingredients

Chicken breast 50g
Salt & pepper as required
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Tesco Ramen Paste jar 1
Hot water 400ml
Egg noodles for 1
Spring onion 1/2

Method

1
This is the ramen paste jar I found in Tesco, it's £1.69. It shouldn't actually be that different from a cup noodle that only needs hot water, right?
2
Once opened, it looks like this. The jar says it contains onion, chilli, soy sauce, miso, anchovy, etc...so many unusual ingredients that make me a bit nervous.
3
Anyway, season the chicken with salt & pepper and put the oil in a pan. Add the chicken and all the paste from the jar and stir fry. It says to pour in the hot water...this is fine but it also says to add the egg noodles!
4
It says to loosen the egg noodles and allow the soup to reduce by half. I faithfully followed the instructions, but the aroma is definitely more southeast Asian than Japanese.
5
Transfer to a ramen bowl and sprinkle with the finely chopped spring onions - mission complete. I present to you Thai-ish noodles, not ramen!

Tips & Note

The food development team at Tesco would know this is not anywhere near a Japanese flavour if they've ever tried the real thing. You feel more like you're eating from a street food stall in Bangkok. I'm worried that British people would really believe this is a true ramen sauce!
