Spicy Onion Tempura

Ingredients

Onion (small) 1 (90g)
Curry powder 1 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Coriander 10g
Self raising flour 50g
Water 50ml
Oil for frying as required

Method

Put the finely sliced onion and chopped coriander in a bowl. Add the curry powder and salt and mix.

Add the flour and mix lightly. Pour in the water and mix.

Put enough oil about 3-4cm deep in a pan and heat to 180C. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture at Step 2 into the oil and deep fry.

Take care not to drop the scoops too close to each other. Deep fry until nice and brown before serving hot.

Tips & Note

●Lightly mix at Step 2 to avoid a heavy finished batter
●Scoop level spoonfuls of the mixture at Step 3, don't make them too big, and gently fry them to get a good result
