Deep Fried Vegetable and Prawn Patties

It goes well with mustard soy sauce or dashi soy sauce.

Ingredients

Cabbage 180g
Potato 1
Leek 1
Prawns 10
Egg 1
Flour 7-8 tbsp
Water 7-8 tbsp
Salt 1 pinch
Vegetable oil as required
【Sauce & toppings】
Tonkatsu sauce, mayonnaise as required
Bonito flakes, green laver, chopped spring onions as required

Method

Remove the centre core of the cabbage and finely chop the rest of the cabbage.

Grate the potato and pat dry.

Roughly chop the leek and prawns.

Put the cabbage, potato, leeks and prawns in a bowl and mix. Add the egg, flour, water and salt and mix well by hand.

Scoop a bit of Step 4 into the palm of your hand and make into a ball then press into a patty.

Put the oil into a frying pan and heat on low. Put the patties into the hot oil and press down lightly.

When both sides are nicely browned, they're ready.

Serve with any sauce or favourite toppings.

Tips & Note

●If it's difficult to make the patties, add 1-2 tbsp of water or flour to adjust the texture.
