Chicken with HP Sauce and Tomato Ketchup

Use the traditional British HP sauce as a supporting actor to the main tomato ketchup.

Ingredients

Chicken breast 1
Green pepper 1/2
Carrot 1/2
Onion 1/2
Celery 1
● White wine 5 tbsp
● Japanese soy sauce 1 tbsp
● Mirin 1 tbsp
◇ Chicken stock 150ml
◇ Tomato ketchup 2 tbsp
◇ HP sauce 1 tbsp
◇ Noodle soup (mentsuyu) 1 tbsp
Sesame seeds as needed

Method

Mix all the ● ingredients in a bowl and add the chicken breast. Marinade for 30 minutes.

Wipe off the liquid from the chicken breast with kitchen paper and cut into bitesize pieces. Dredge in some flour. Put some oil in a frying pan for the chicken.

On a medium heat, fry the chicken for 5 minutes, then remove and put on a plate. Use the frying pan to stir fry the bitesize vegetables.

Pour in the leftover liquid made earlier from the ● ingredients into the frying pan.

Cook the vegetables for 2-3 minutes, then add all the ◇ ingredients and return the chicken to the pan. Cook and reduce the sauce to one third.

While it;s reducing, keep mixing the chicken and vegetables to create a sticky sauce.

Put onto a serving plate and garnish with white sesame seeds.
