Method

A standard miso soup per person serving has 20g of miso and 200ml of stock.

Traditionally, bonito flakes and kombu are used for seasoning or flavouring the soup stock but dashi stock granules now do the job. Even so, it still might be troublesome for non-Japanese.

To make it more accessible, it's easy enough to use a chicken, fish or vegetable stock cube. The miso soup tastes slightly Westernised, but it's perfectly acceptable.
