Chinese Stir Fried Beef & Peppers

Ingredients

Beef fillet 250g
Bamboo shoots 1 pack
Peppers 6
Oyster sauce 2 tbsp
Sake 4 tbsp
Soy sauce 2 tbsp
Mirin 2 tbsp
Weipa seasoning 1 tsp
Sugar 2 tsp
Potato starch as required
Sesame oil as required

Method

Here are the ingredients.

Shred the beef and drizzle with some sake and salt and rub in then sprinkle with the potato starch.

Put the sesame oil in a frying pan and fry the shredded beef until nicely browned then remove to a plate.

Add more oil to the same pan and add the shredded bamboo shoots and peppers. When they're soft, return the beef to the pan and fry further.

Mix all the seasoning ingredients from the ouster sauce to the sugar together in a bowl.

Pour the sauce from Step 5 into the frying pan and cook well.

Tips & Note

Seasoning the beef and sprinkling with potato starch helps to keep the flavour inside and the meat tender.
