Cream Cheese Tiramisu

Everyone asks to eat a lovely tiramisu when it's a birthday or anniversary. My friends love it when I take this to a dinner party, it makes everyone smile. It's perfectly suitable if you have an egg allergy or can't eat raw egg - it has none!

Ingredients

Cream cheese 280g
Double cream 280ml
Milk 2 tbsp
Sugar 120g
Rich tea biscuits 20
Instant coffee 3 tbsp
Hot water 6 tbsp
Cocoa powder as required

Method

Here are the ingredients.

Make the instant coffee with the hot water. Break the biscuits and soak in the coffee so that they absorb this liquid.

Blend the room temperature cream cheese and add the sugar. Mix until it dissolves.

Whip the double cream to soft peaks in a separate bowl.

Add half the whipped cream from Step into the cream cheese at Step 3. Blend evenly then add the remaining cream from Step 4 and mix with a spatula.

Add the milk to Step 5 a bit at a time and mix. You can add 2-3 drops of brandy if you want.

In your serving dishes, put in the soaked biscuits and cream cheese in 3 separate layers.

Cover with cling film and keep in the fridge for 1-3 hours. Sprinkle with cocoa powder on top before serving.

A glass dessert bowl will make the tiramisu look and taste more refreshing.

Tips & Note

Adjust the amount of coffee to suit your taste. Adding the brandy at Step 6 makes this a rich dessert for grown ups. You could make this in one large bowl and serve in individual dishes at the table.
