How to Make Bechamel Sauce in a Microwave

Ingredients

Unsalted butter 15g
Flour 15g
Whole milk 175ml
Double cream 2 tbsp
Garlic 1/2 clove
Salt & pepper as required

Method

Put the butter in a microwaveable bowl for 30-60 seconds (1000W).

Add flour into the bowl and whisk to make it smooth.

Add the milk a bit at a time, whisking well each time. Microwave for 40 seconds and whisk well again.

Microwave again for 30 seconds and whisk again. Repeat another two or three times. Be careful, as the bowl will be very hot.

Add the double cream and whisk. Add the grated garlic and season with salt & pepper. It's ready to use.
