Parma Ham and Cheese Batella Sushi

It's a great mix of Japanese batella sushi with Italian ingredients!

Ingredients

Sushi rice for 1
Parma ham slices 4
Cheese slices 2
Yuzu pepper as you like

Method

Prepare the sushi rice (150g uncooked rice per person) - you can make 2 lots of batella sushi. See this recipe for making sushi rice: recipe ID: 1894.

Put some cling film in the batella mould and lay two slices of parma ham.

Top with a quarter of the sushi rice evenly, then place a cheese slice cut in half to fit.

Top with another quarter of sushi rice evenly spread. Put the mould lid on and press firmly.

Remove from the moud and cut into 6 pieces with a wet knife. Now remove the cling film and transfer to a serving dish. You can garnish with some yuzu pepper if you like, before serving.

I used this parma ham.

Sushi vinegar (to make sushi rice) from Mizkan is easily available in supermarkets.

Tips & Note

●You'll first taste the vinegar in the sushi rice, then the cheese and lastly the parma ham. Your taste buds will be a bit puzzled, but will soon be happy!
