Chickpea Burger

Sounds like junk food but it's very healthy.

Ingredients

Chickpeas
(cooked, as in a tin) 1 cup
Onion 1
Garlic 2 cloves
Pitta bread 3-4
【A】
Parsley (chopped) 3 tbsp
Coriander seeds 1 tsp
Cumin 1 tsp
Cayenne pepper or paprika 1 tsp
Flour 2 tbsp
Salt & pepper as required
【B】
Yoghurt 4 tbsp
Lemon juice as required
Salt & pepper as required
【C】
Tomato, cucumber, onions, coriander as required

Method

Finely chop the onion, garlic and parsley.

Put some vegetable oil in a frying pan on a medium heat.Stir fry the onions.

Add the garlic and fry until you can smell it.

Put the chickpeas into a blender together with Step 3 and the ingredients for A.

Add flour and blend well. Put into a bowl and leave at room temperature for 1 hour.

Divide the mixture into 15 and make small patties. Fry both sides in a frying pan until they are browned.

Mix all the ingredients for B to make a sauce.

Slice the pitta bread and open. Insert the burger and your favourite other ingredients from C. Pour in the sauce from Step 7, and it's ready.

Tips & Note

●I recommend to add grated garlic into the yoghurt sauce, that's also lovely.
