Serves 4 Cook: 15 min

Ingredients

Parsnips (large) 2
Vegetable oil for frying as required
Dark brown sugar 100g

Method

1
This is a parsnip, it looks like a white carrot but it becomes very sweet when it's cooked.
2
Peel the parsnips then roughly chop and soak in water.
3
Change the water occasionally until it becomes clear. Drain in a colander and pat dry.
4
Put the vegetable oil in a pan on medium heat and deep fry the parsnips until nicely browned and cooked through.
5
Put the brown sugar and 3 tbsp water into a frying pan and bring gently to the boil. Add the cooked parsnips and mix well to coat nicely.
6
You can sprinkle sesame seeds on top if you like. Enjoy while it's hot!

Tips & Note

●Changing the water at Step 3 is to remove the starch from the parsnips so that they cook nice and crisply
