A new steak sauce on the block

I've been quite miserable recently because I've not eaten steak in a long while. To satisfy my longing, I went to a trendy steakhouse and totally indulged in juicy steak and fine red wine. I wish I could do this every day! Of course, the reality is that we need to buy and cook it at home. Get the best cut you can from the butchers or supermarket and trim off the fat and fibres. To give yourself the impression you're eating restaurant-quality meat, just press it tightly and firmly then score in several places with a sharp knife. It's amazing what tricks you come up when your meagre income forces you to think big! So, to go with my steak, I wondered about the sauce. Red wine, mushroom, pepper...but what about a Japanese style sauce?! It's fairly well known that beef and soy sauce work well together but I went one step further and added mirin to sweeten it. Add garlic and butter and you have a sauce made in heaven. Your supermarket £4 steak will be elevated to a £30 masterpiece! Even a lion who devours a steak with no salt & pepper would (kill or) die for one of these!
