Super Delicious Easy Chocolate Banana Pie

I was inspired by Mary P's "King of Chocolate Pies" and wanted to add a banana. It was a bit tricky but it was delicious!

Makes 24 Prep: 20 min Cook: 18 min

Ingredients

Puff pastry 1
Egg yolk 1
Bananas 3
Chocolate pieces 24

Method

1
I used Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate. It's easy because you can break it into even pieces.
2
Lay the pastry sheet on a piece of baking paper and cut it down the centre (together with the baking paper). Lightly score lines 4 across × 6 up on one side of the pastry sheet and put a sliced banana in the centre of each cutout.
3
Place one chocolate piece on top of each banana slice. It's quite tight. Brush some egg yolk between and around each chocolate piece.
4
Lift the other half of the pastry sheet over to cover.
5
Press the space between chocolates with your fingers and cut along the lines into 24 pieces. Pinch the pastry together around each pie.
6
Use a fork to press down firmly to stop banana and chocolate escaping.
7
Brush some egg yolk over the tops and bake for 18 minutes in a preheated oven 200C.
8
It is delicious hot, it is delicious even if it is slightly cold, even if it cools completely, it is delicious. The next day. . . I did not know because I ate it all.

Tips & Note

When trying to make 24 pieces, the gap between each chocolate piece is quite narrow and it takes a bit of hard work to get it just right. If you make fewer and have a bigger gap between the chocolates (3 × 5 for example), it is easier, but the balance between pie and contents doesn't work so well. Any tips, anyone?
