Makes 8 Prep: 15 min Cook: 20 min

Ingredients

Minced pork 150g
Salt & pepper as required
Ginger 1 thumb
Garlic 1 clove
Soy sauce 2 tbsp
Sesame oil 2 tbsp
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Chinese leaves (large) 4
Parma ham (prosciuto) slices 4
Your favourite tomato sauce as required

Method

1
Season the minced pork with salt & pepper. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil and finely chopped ginger and garlic and rub in. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
2
Put the bottom ends of the Chinese leaves in hot water to boil for 5-6 minutes until softened enough to roll.
3
Remove Step 2 from the water and allow to cool. Pat dry thoroughly and lay them flat on a chopping board without gaps. Spread the minced pork across the bottom, end to end.
4
Roll up the bottom end of the Chinese leaves over the minced pork, then lay the parma ham slices on top. Continue rolling to the top.
5
Put the oil in a large frying pan on high heat and add Step 4 for 3 minutes, turning occasionally. Transfer to a plate.
6
The pork won't be cooked yet. Cut the roll into 8 thick slices.
7
Return the slices to the frying pan and fry on medium heat for 5 minutes. Pour in your favourite tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
8
To enjoy the flavours, I suggest you use a plainer tomato sauce. You could even use ketchup. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy.
