Warming Apple and Blackberry Crumble

I pick wild blackberries near my home every year to make this delicious warming dessert.

Recipe By: JasmineAndAlmond (https://cookbuzz.com/kitchen/36)
Serves 4 Cook: 30 min

Ingredients

Filling
Blackberries 150g
Apples (any variety) 350g peeled (about 3)
Brown sugar 50g
Flour 2 tbsp
Crumble mix
Flour 300g
Brown sugar 160g
Unsalted butter 200g
Salt a pinch

Method

1
Wash the blackberries carefully and drain. Peel the apples and cut into 1cm wedges.
2
Preheat the oven 180C. Cut the butter into 1-2cm dice.
3
Put the sugar, flour and salt in a large bowl and mix. Add the diced butter a bit at a time and crumble by hand to a breadcrumb texture.
4
In another bowl, put the diced apples and add the sugar and flour (for the filling) and mix gently by hand.
5
Put the apples from Step 4 into an oven dish and add the blackberries evenly.
6
Sprinkle over the crumble from Step 3 evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
7
When it cools to hand hot, serve while warm with vanilla ice cream.
8
You can freeze any leftover crumble mix and blackberries. I make lots of crumble and freeze it.

Tips & Note

★Make the crumble by rubbing in the butter with your thumbs to the flour and sugar.
★If your apples are a bit sharp, the crumble will be sweet and sour. Sweet apples will make the whole dish sweeter.
★If you make this without blackberries, add a pinch of cinnamon powder to Step 4.
