Rich and Tasty Minced Beef Pasta

Ingredients

Minced beef 250g
Onion (medium) 1
Olive oil as required
Garlic 1 clove
Red wine 200ml
Pepper as required
Courgette (small) 1
Tinned tomatoes 1/2
Worcester sauce 2 tbsp
Ketchup 3 tbsp
Salt as required
Pasta 250g
Cheddar cheese (grated) as required

Method

Put the oil in a pan and fry the finely chopped garlic.

Add and fry the minced beef until browned. Add the sliced onion, red wine and pepper and bring to the boil.

Add the diced courgette and tinned tomatoes and simmer.

Add the Worcester sauce, ketchup and salt and simmer further. If you don't have Worcester sauce, add more ketchup and salt and a touch of honey.

Add the cooked pasta and mix well. I recommend fusilli for this recipe.

Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle liberally with cheddar cheese.

Tips & Note

Minced pork also works well. You can add celery, carrots and aubergines too.
