Chicken Katsu: Japanese Fried Chicken

Ingredients

Chicken thighs 2thighs
Egg 1egg
Japanese bread crumbs/panko 1cup
Oil for deep frying
Tonkatsu sauce 2Tbs
*MasterFood Seasoning - All purpose 1Tbs
*MasterFoods Italian Herbs 1Tbs

Method

Flatten chicken thighs by pressing with knife.

Bring water to boil, simmer and place thigh into simmering water.

After 30 secs, place chicken onto paper towel.

sprinkle with seasoning

cover with flour

beat egg well

place chicken into egg mix both sides

place bread crumbs (panko) onto chicken

heat oil until almost boiling (or bread crumb floats to surface)

place chicken into pan (medium heat)

when one side is golden turn chicken over and pierce 5 holes

when both sides are golden, chicken is done.

Cut the chicken into strips, and serve with Tonkatsu sauce
