Chicken Grilled with Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola is a great seasoning, because the sugar gives it flavour and depth and the fizziness makes the chicken really juicy.

Serves 6 Prep: 20 min Cook: 45 min

Ingredients

Chicken legs 6
Coca-Cola 330ml
Soy sauce 4.5 tbsp
Onions 3
Ginger 20g
Garlic 1 clove
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Salt & pepper as required

Method

1
Here are the ingredients.
2
Score the chicken legs in several places. Season with salt & pepper.
3
Grate the garlic and ginger. Slice the onion. Mix with the seasonings and leave the marinade in the fridge.
4
Put the chicken skin side down into an ovenproof dish and pour over the marinade. Cover with foil.
5
Put into an oven 200C for 30 minutes.
6
Remove the foil and turn the chicken over. Put back in the oven (no foil) for 15 minutes before serving.

Tips & Note

Use regular Coca-Cola (not diet), otherwise the artificial sweetener will taste quite bitter once the chicken is cooked.
You can saute the chicken before adding the other ingredients if you don't want to roast in the oven.
