Sake 1 tbsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Soy sauce 2 tbsp

Method

This is a swede from Sweden. It's also called a rutabaga.
2
Wrap in cling film and cook in the microwave. Dice into 2-3cm pieces. Cover with cling film and microwave again for 1 minute.
3
Roughly chop the spring onions, finely chop the ginger.
4
Put the sesame oil into a wok or frying pan. Fry the minced pork on medium heat. When browned, add the spring onions, ginger and Chinese chilli bean sauce and continue to fry.
5
Add the cooked swede, hot water and all the seasoning ingredients and bring to the boil.
6
Turn the heat down to medium and simmer for 15 minutes until the sauce reduces. Add the mirin to glaze.
7
Transfer to a dish and sprinkle with the crushed sesame seeds.

Tips & Note

●Raw swede is very hard to cut, but once it's cooked, it's much much easier to peel and cut.
